NAMPA, Idaho — One man is in custody following an early-morning standoff in a Nampa neighborhood Thursday.

According to the Canyon County Sheriff's Office, investigators received a tip just before 2:30 a.m. that 39-year-old Murray Casey Carter was staying at a home in the 1600 block of Primrose Drive in Nampa.

Carter was wanted on multiple felony domestic violence warrants, including attempted strangulation.

Deputies went out to the house and spoke with the homeowner, who told them that Carter had barricaded himself in the attic and was refusing to come out.

Deputies tried to negotiate with Carter, but he refused to surrender. The canyon County SWAT team was called in and set up a perimeter around the area.

At about 7:15 a.m., Carter finally agreed to give up and came out of the attic. He was arrested and booked into the Canyon County Jail on his warrants.

More charges are pending, according to the sheriff's office.
