Reward increased to $100K on 4th anniversary of Notus murder

25-year-old Chris Reese was gunned down the night of December 17, 2014 when two armed suspects robbed the Jacksons store he worked at.

For four years, the brutal murder of Notus gas station employee Chris Reese has remained a mystery.

On the fourth anniversary of the shooting Thursday, authorities announced that they are raising the reward to $100,000, for tips that lead to an arrest and conviction.

The 25-year-old Reese was gunned down the night of December 17, 2014 when two armed suspects robbed the Jacksons Food Store in Notus.

The shooters took a safe and drove away in Reese's vehicle.

At a news conference in front the store on Thursday, Canyon County Sheriff Kieran Donahue said the case is still a top priority, and sent out another plea for tips.

"It's a case that continues to haunt us," Donahue said. "It's a case that continues to haunt the Reese family. And we're not stopping, we're not giving up. We're going to chase this down to the very end. And what we would really like to do is implore the public to come forward with information."

The reward is being offered by the president and owners of Jacksons Food Stores.

In addition to the increased reward money, investigators hope new billboards around the area will lead to fresh tips.

If you have any information about the case, you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 208-343-COPS (2677). You can remain anonymous.
