Parma man arrested after Caldwell bank robbery

Police say they recovered a bank bag and money from inside Jesus Carbajal's vehicle.

A 24-year-old Parma man was arrested just minutes after a bank robbery in Caldwell Thursday morning.

According to the Caldwell Police Department, the robbery happened at about 11:40 a.m. at a Wells Fargo bank branch on East Cleveland Boulevard.

Witnesses told officers that the suspect drove away eastbound on Caldwell Boulevard in a green GMC Yukon.

Minutes later, detectives with the Nampa Police Department spotted the SUV on Caldwell Boulevard near Abraham Way, and initiated a traffic stop.

The suspect, Jesus A. Carbajal of Parma, was arrested and taken back to Caldwell for questioning. Officers recovered the bank bag and money reported stolen during the robbery inside the Carbajal's vehicle, police said.

After questioning, Carbajal was booked into the Canyon County Jail on felony charges of robbery and burglary.

Police have not said if Carbajal displayed a weapon during the robbery. None of the victims inside the bank were harmed.
