BOISE, Idaho — Two men are facing felony charges after deputies report finding about 14 pounds of marijuana in their car during a traffic stop.

Carlos Rojas Morales, 28, of Jerome and Carlos Villicana Zavala, 22, of Hazelton, were arrested on drug trafficking charges early Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Ada County Sheriff's Office, a deputy spotted a gray Nissan Sentra tailgating a semi truck on eastbound I-84 at about 1 p.m. The deputy pulled the car over, and noticed a "strong marijuana odor" coming from the vehicle.

Zavala, who was driving, did not have a valid drivers license or a copy of the contract for the car, which had been rented in California, officials say.

The deputy searched the Nissan, and found a black trash bag in the trunk. Inside were 14 heat-sealed packages of marijuana, each weighing about a pound, according to the sheriff's office.

Zavala and Morales were arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail. Both are due to appear in court Thursday afternoon.
