NAMPA, Idaho — A Caldwell man was arrested early Wednesday morning after police say he led officers on a high-speed chase through Nampa, and at one point pushed a woman out of his vehicle.

According to Nampa police, officers attempted to pull over 20-year-old Alex Ibarra near the intersection of North Ethel Drive and Port Street at about 1:40 a.m.

Ibarra refused to pull over and the pursuit reached speeds of over 65 miles per hour as the suspect ran stop signs, police said.

The chase continued south through Nampa into Canyon County. At one point, police said, as Ibarra drove onto a ditch bank, the passenger door opened and a woman was pushed out of the vehicle. The woman allegedly told officers that she had tried to get Ibarra to stop the pursuit, and that he had pushed her out of the vehicle.

Police did not say whether the woman was injured in the incident.

Officers eventually used a PIT maneuver to stop Ibarra's vehicle in the area of Warren Spur Road.

Ibarra was booked into the Canyon County Jail on charges of felony eluding, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, probation violation, and leaving the scene of a crash.
