BOISE -- A California man has been arrested after police say he robbed a bank in Boise Thursday morning.
Timothy B. Freegard, 59, of Galt, California is accused of targeting the U.S. Bank branch at 7230 West Fairview Avenue at 10:09 a.m.
Police say Freegard stole an undisclosed amount of cash during the robbery, then escaped in his car. Officers responded immediately and began searching the area.
A Garden City Police detective spotted Freegard - who matched the description of the robber - driving near Fairview and Curtis a short time later. Police stopped the car and took the suspect into custody without incident.
Investigators combed through Freegard's gray Mercedes, collecting evidence to charge him.
He was taken to the Ada County Jail and booked under one charge of felony robbery. He is due to appear in court Aug. 31.
If convicted, the suspect could face up to life in prison.
