Idaho manufacturing companies in Paris for law enforcement expo

The Idaho Department of Commerce paid for a space in the expo for the six Idaho companies, which specialize in various types of military and police gear.

BOISE, Idaho — Six Idaho manufacturing companies are in Paris this week to show their products to the world.

Called Milipol - a portmanteau of military and police - it is one of the world's largest military and law enforcement expos, and is attended by some 30,000 representatives from agencies from over 150 countries.

The Idaho Department of Commerce, supported by a grant from the U.S. Small Business Association, paid for a space in the expo for the six Idaho companies who paid their own way to attend.

Among the Gem State companies attending is Boise-based Blac-Rac which makes, among other things, weapon mounts for all types of law enforcement and military applications.

Blac-Rac Sales Director Eric Haney said he met more potential international customers in the first few hours of the expo than he had in the past two years.

The four-day event wraps up Friday.
