COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho — Country music star Chris Janson will be headlining the North Idaho State Fair this year, according to a press release from the event.

The state fair was canceled in 2020 due to COVID-19 protocols in Idaho, but is expected to return Aug. 20 through Aug. 29. The fair was expanded from five to ten days to expand the programming line up this year.

Janson will bring his "Real Friends" tour to the Findlay Arena on Tuesday, Aug. 24, according to the release. Janson was supposed to play the fair in 2020 before it was canceled.

"We know how excited everyone was in 2020 to see Chris Janson at the Fair. It seemed right to make sure we could have him in 2021. Our team has worked hard for the last eight months to plan concert experience like never before for our community” Kootenai County Fairgrounds manager Alexcia Jordan said. “We have a plan in place to safely come together again, enjoy live music and have a great time”.

Concert tickets will be available to the fair's email club on Wednesday, Feb. 10. To sign up go to the fair's website or text FAIRFUN to 22828. The sale will be open to the public on Friday, Feb. 12 at 9 a.m.

The fair will also be holding livestock shows, a carnival, a rodeo, bull riding performances, arena demonstrations and educational events. Check out the full line up of events on the North Idaho State Fair's website
