BOISE -- Boise State seniors Chris Sengfelder, Lexus Williams, and Chandler Hutchison led the Broncos men’s basketball team to a 95-87 victory over the Wyoming Cowboys Saturday evening at Taco Bell Arena.
The game was the final regular-season game for Boise State, and the final home game for the three seniors.
Sengfelder led all scorers with 24 points and seven rebounds. It was Sengfelder’s fourth game with 20 points or more this season.
Williams was 12-for-12 from the free-throw line, and tied his career-high mark of 22 points, previously set during the 2013-2014 season when he was playing for Valparaiso.
Hutchison finished the game with 11 points and six rebounds in 21 minutes of play. He had some foul trouble during a game in which fouls were called on both teams early and often in the first half.
Boise State jumped out to a 21-5 lead in the first eight minutes of play, and led 47-34 at the half.
Wyoming cut the lead to 92-84 with just under a minute left in the game. Both teams traded free throws in the final minute, and the Broncos held on for the victory.
The Broncos were 30-for-60 from the field, 8-for-18 from three-point range, and 24-for-34 from the free-throw line.
Next up for the Boise State men is a quarterfinal game in the Mountain West conference tournament at 7:30 p.m. Mountain Time on Thursday. The Broncos are seeded second in that tournament.
