LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) -- The story of Katina Powell, the UofL basketball scandal, and possible new details will be getting nationwide attention once again. Powell sat down with ESPN's Outside the Lines for the second time on March 8 in Louisville for another interview.
"Ms. Powell met with John Barr of ESPN's Outside the Lines today at 9:30 a.m. in a conference room at the Seelbach Hotel. Mr Barr had questions about new information developed by ESPN as well as discussed how her life has been effected by developments that have taken place since they initially interviewed," Powell's attorney Larry Wilder said.
This interview comes just a day after another one of Powell's attorney's confirmed that she met with NCAA investigators for a second time. That attorney Bart McMahon, said NCAA investigators had more questions to ask Powell that they did not ask the first time she met with them back in November. We're told in that first meeting, Powell turned over journals and phone records.
In her book Breaking Cardinal Rules, Powell claims she coordinated strippers and escorts for the men's basketball team and recruits from 2010 to 2014.
The University has implemented a self-imposed postseason ban while the NCAA investigation, as well as University of Louisville's internal investigation are both still on-going.
WHAS11 is told, the story will air Sunday morning, which is selection Sunday for the NCAA tournament. Outside the Lines' John Barr said there would be new information in the report.
The University of Louisville said they are aware the show is here this week, but they have no updates on the investigation and are declining interview requests.
