Gene
Harris Jazz Festival
|
Gene
Harris made playing great jazz seem graceful and effortless. What many people
may not know is that to play a great improvised solo requires a tremendous
amount of technical skill combined with an in depth knowledge of music theory
and how to apply it. The results could be described as spontaneous composition,
the creation of new music and the immediate presentation of the music to
the listener through the performer's instrument. The Gene Harris Jazz Festival
is committed to helping our young musicians learn and master the art of
spontaneous composition and pass it on to you. |
