The best part: It's proximity to the park makes it easy to bring a picnic and play some horseshoes or lounge under the trees.

13-59 $3.50
age 60+ $5
Discovery Center of Idaho
This is a laboratory for science discovery and fun. Visitors are actively and directly involved in scientific exploration; you DO something to learn the science behind the exhibit. Each station allows for hypothesizing, experimentation, and drawing conclusions -- a replica of the scientific method.
The best part: Hands-down, the best part is the changing hands-on exhibits.

Greenbelt
This is great exercise on foot, on rollerblades, on bike, or with the family dog.
The best part: It's free and most stretches of the greenbelt are a little cooler thanks to the Boise River.

Boondocks
This game center offers activities for the whole family to do together at any age in most any weather.  You'll spend between $13 and $21 per person for packages that will give you arcade tokens and unlimited miniature golf in addition to a mix of activity passes to the Go-Karts, Bumper Boats, and/or Laser Tag.
The best part: Seven-year-olds can be surprisingly sneaky and skilled at laser tag.

MK Nature Center
Located on the greenbelt near the Park Blvd. Bridge. The Center is open from dawn to dusk, every day of the year. Although there is no admission fee, donations are gratefully accepted, and support many worthy Nature Center projects that might go unfunded otherwise.
The best part: The underwater viewing windows along the stream walk give visitors a fish-eye view of the world.

BSU Student Union Games Center
Bowl for $2.25/game and rent shoes for $1.  Billiards are just $4.50/hour.
The best part:  You can teaching your kids how to shark at the table and other bar games in a non-bar type of environment and you won't walk out smelling like an ashtray.

Roaring Springs
This waterpark is normally open Memorial Day through Labor Day and can provide great relief from the Boise summer heat for about $18-$22. If your family spends a lot of time in swimming suits, you can save a lot of money by buying season passes upfront.
The best part: The wave pool and the lazy river don't need any peripheral toys to be enjoyed.
