Fresh off an impressive road win over Rutgers, Fresno State jumped up to no. 21 in both the coaches and media college football polls. Boise State is ranked 33rd by both the media and coaches.

* Steelheads to lower ticket prices
As the Idaho Steelheads continue signing players for the 2008-09 season and make plans to open training camp next month, the team today announced excitement is building amongst fans. The team has lowered prices on many season tickets and renewals for the upcoming season are running ahead of last year's pace.

Boise State swept the Western Athletic Conference Players of the Week honors as forward junior forward Andrea Huerta and junior goalkeeper Jennifer Burns became the first Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively for the 2008 season.

Vandals complete final scrimmage
The final scrimmage is in the books and the University of Idaho football team got its last bit of live action before an Aug. 30 date with Arizona in Tucson. The result of Tuesday’s scrimmage – call it a draw.

The Boise Hawks salvaged the final game of a five game series with Vancouver with a 16-9 victory at Nat Bailey Stadium in Vancouver, B.C. on Tuesday.

Former BSU star to play pro hoops in Cyprus
Reggie Larry won't play in the NBA this season, but he's found himself a pretty nice consolation overseas. KTVB Sports talked to the former Boise State star basketball player Thursday and he said he's signed a professional contract with AEL Limassol in Cyprus.

The 2008 Carter Cup concluded today at Blue Lakes CC in Twin Falls, ID as the IGA Amateur team defeated the Rocky Mountain Section PGA team by a significant margin, 36-24 in a Ryder Cup style format event.
