BSU quarterback Jared Zabransky is hoping to take his success with the Broncos to the next level - the National Football League.
The Pittsburgh Steelers released former Boise State Quarterback Jared Zabransky on Wednesday. That's according to a press release sent out by the team. The 3-year starter for the Broncos from 2004 to 2006 signed with the Steelers on February 6th. He was hoping to compete for the number 3 QB spot for the Steelers in training camp.
However, it looked like those plans were doomed when the organization drafted quarterback Dennis Dixon in the 5th Round, and signed QB Mike Potts as a free agent.
The move makes room for WR Marvin Allen (5-10, 180) of London, England. He will remain on the team’s practice squad for the entire 2008 season. Allen, 25, spent the 2006 season on the Steelers’ practice squad as the team’s NFL Europe International Practice Squad player.
Zabransky spent part of the 2007 season on the Houston Texans’ practice squad. He originally signed with Houston in 2007 as an undrafted rookie.
