Boise, August 28, 2008: Boise State University Alum, Graham DeLaet, has accepted a sponsor’s exemption to play in the Albertsons Boise Open presented by Kraft at Hillcrest Country Club September 8-14.

DeLaet is in the midst of very strong run on the Canadian Tour having captured his first Canadian Tour victory recently at the Desjardins Montreal Open presented by Lexus. He followed the victory with a runner-up finish the next week at the Jane Rogers Championship of Mississauga moving to sixth on the Canadian Tour Order of Merit. 2008 is DeLaet’s second year on the Canadian Tour. He completed his impressive rookie season in 2007 with making the cut in 11 of 14 events and finishing 13th on the season ending Canadian Tour Order of Merit.

DeLaet will try to continue his streak at Hillcrest in September as he joins some familiar faces in the Albertsons Boise Open presented by Kraft. The 19th edition of the prestigious Nationwide Tour event will feature the strongest group of Idaho golf professionals in the Albertsons Boise Open presented by Kraft’s rich history. Leading the Boise contingency will be Nationwide Tour Professionals Ryan Hietala and Tyler Aldridge. Hietala, a PGA TOUR and Nationwide Tour veteran, won the Cox Classic on the Nationwide Tour in July catapulting himself to 26th on Nationwide Tour Money List. His stellar play has continued and he currently resides in the 25th position on the Money List.

The top 25 on the season ending Nationwide Tour Money List will receive their PGA TOUR credentials for the 2009 season, the ultimate reward for Nationwide Tour professionals. Joining Hietala on the 2008 Nationwide Tour is Boise resident and Tour rookie, Tyler Aldridge. Following a successful amateur career, Aldridge gained his fulltime privileges on the Nationwide Tour by finishing tied for 74th at the PGA TOUR National Qualifying Tournament.

Another BSU Alum, Troy Merritt, accepted a sponsor’s exemption earlier to play in the Albertsons Boise Open presented by Kraft. Merritt turned professional earlier this summer following a record breaking career at Boise State University where he won a record 21 collegiate titles including leading the nation with 7 victories during the 2007-2008 collegiate season. Merritt was named to the prestigious All Jack Nicklaus Team for his performance.

Two local club professionals from Boise have their sights set on making a strong showing at the Albertsons Boise Open presented by Kraft, BSU Golf Coach Kevin Burton and SpurWing Country Club Assistant Professional, Adam Martens. Burton recently won the Rocky Mountain Section PGA Championship to earn his access into the Albertsons Boise Open presented by Kraft adding to his earlier win at the Idaho State Open where he beat Merritt on the last hole to capture the title. Martens, a former Hillcrest Country Club assistant professional, will be returning to his former home club also in search of the coveted title of Albertsons Boise Open presented by Kraft Champion.

The Albertsons Boise Open presented by Kraft will be played at Hillcrest Country Club September 8-14 and will be broadcast to over 110 million subscribers internationally on Golf Channel.
