Nick Lomax was the back-up quarterback at BSU in 2006 and 2007.
At this afternoon's weekly press conference Boise State head football coach Chris Petersen announced junior quarterback Nick Lomax is leaving the team.
Lomax, who following fall camp was listed as the number 4 quarterback on the depth chart, decided he'd leave the team and pursue his football career elsewhere. Coach Petersen believes he'll transfer to a Divsion II or Division III college to continue playing football.
Petersen's understanding is that Lomax will go home and enroll as a part time student somewhere close to his hometown of Tualatin, Oregon as he searches for another place to play ball.
Lomax redshirted for the Broncos in 2005 and was named scout team player of the year. In 2006 and 2007 he was a back-up quarterback at BSU.More Local News
