January 2nd -- A day after Boise State Offensive Tackle Ryan Clady decided to forgo his final season of eligibility to enter the 2008 NFL Draft, the 1st Team All-American released some statements about his decision…
On his decision to leave Boise State University:
I felt I have proven everything I could playing in college and I was ready for the next level. The time was right for me to pursue my dream.
His feeling towards Boise State University, the football program and their fans:
I would like to thank the whole Boise family. Everyone has really been supportive to me both on and off the playing field.
On what it was like playing for Coach Petersen, Coach Strausser and Coach Huff:
All the coaches at Boise have been great to me. I owe a ton to Coach Strausser. He took a kid who never played offensive line in high school and well… it turned out pretty good. Coach Petersen and Coach Huff really helped me to fine tune my game and make me a complete player.
On his draft status:
Hopefully, I can find some offensive line coach out there who likes me. I know I still have a lot of work to ahead in order to get to the point I want to be at.
What memories will he carry of Boise as he heads to the National Football League:
So many great memories. Boise has really turned into my home away from home. Although I will be leaving Boise in body, my heart will remain at Bronco Stadium.
On what his family and friends have meant to him leading up to this day:
My family has been extremely supportive of my decision. They have given me their input and then really took a step back to allow me to make some wonderful decisions for myself. For that I’m very thankful.
