BOISE -- A small but dignified group met at the State Capitol Friday for Prisoners of War and Missing in Action Recognition Day Ceremony.
Members of the National League of POW and MIA families were joined by military leaders and veterans on the Statehouse steps.
Gov. Butch Otter then made a proclamation to help support this organization find missing military members never recovered after war.
"To see how the people of Idaho and the governor of Idaho continues to remember our missing in action, it's gratifying. This is unique for many parts of the world, most of the world to have this kind of memorial and remembrance every year," said Mark Stephenson, POW board member.
Some founding members have been waiting over four decades to locate their missing loved ones.
