Sharknado --it's a one-word title the sums up an entire plot.

Syfy's latest disaster movie, about a shark tornado (duh), may not be winning an Academy Award anytime soon, but it sure is winning the Internet since it aired Thursday night.

Sharknado is now getting attention across the U.S. -- perhaps for its ridiculous plot structure which includes a freak tornado that apparently sucks up large, deadly sharks, then swerves inland from the ocean and hits Los Angeles. There's also a band of survivors armed with shotguns including actress Tara Reid.

The film, which Entertainment Weekly dubbed "another Syfy disaster film gone horribly right," stars Reid, John Heard, and "90210" alum Ian Ziering as protagonist Fin Shepard.

Fin Shepard. Does it get any better than that?

Not that it matters, but the plot is as such: When a huge tornado upends the ocean and floods the streets of L.A., sending hundreds of vicious sharks hurtling through the air, Fin, a bar owner, is called upon to stop them.

The channel's ridiculous-action-movie roster already includes 2010's "Sharktopus," "Dinoshark," 2012's "Piranhaconda," and "Mega Python vs. Gatoroid," which, naturally, starred pop stars Tiffany and Deborah Gibson.

Check out the official trailer.
