BOISE -- It is now a waiting game to see if a new video tape recording of a captured American soldier believed to be in Afghanistan will surface.
And the only U.S. soldier known to have been captured in Afghanistan is Private First Class Bowe Bergdahl from Hailey, Idaho.
An Islamic terrorist organization has posted on a Web site that it will be releasing the new video.
When that video will surface is anyone's guess right now -- but family, friends, and the rest of the nation are waiting to see and hear from the only U.S. soldier captured in the war in Afghanistan.
It is believe Bergdahl was taken prisoner on June 30, and the last video was released on July 18, 2009.
It's unknown which militant group has captured the Idaho soldier and there is speculation by counter terrorism experts that Bergdahl is being held in either Afghanistan or Pakistan.
NBC Chief Pentagon Corespondent Jim Miklaszewski says the video could tell a lot. Like which country Bergdahl is possibly being held in -- if he has been transfered to a new location during these past few months -- or if he has possibly been traded or sold to a different organization.
"Until the video is released, they don't want to get into a game of speculation which is pretty much what it would be we are relaying on the kind of counter terrorism experts who follow and track these organizations diligently and they are confident in the information at least the legitimately the website they have found this information," said Miklaszewski.
Our NBC desk in Washington will notify us the minute they receive word the video tape is in, and we, of course, will let you know.
Meanwhile, all family and friends can do now is wait.
"We haven't gotten any confirmation that it is Bowe Bergdahl that will be on this video," said family friend and Blaine County Sheriff Walt Femling. "But at this point we're waiting to see. I think everybody up here including his family is waiting to get any kind of news or confirmation about Bowe. We've really haven't heard nothing for several months."
U.S. military officials have searched for Bergdahl, but it is not publicly known whether he is being held in Afghanistan or neighboring Pakistan.
