BOISE -- From an overweight mother to a beauty pageant contestant -- one Nampa woman's story has inspired a nationally known doctor to ask for her help.

Dr. Oz found Jill Knapp's story online.

Now he has her helping others shed pounds with a few less calories, a little more exercise, and a whole lot of motivation.

There's no junk food snacking for Jill Knapp.

Her lunch on Wednesday -- baked salmon.

"So you eat it all the time, yes, these pre-packed things," said Knapp.

As she prepares her meal, the mother of three describes how she lost weight.

It was just a few years ago that Jill topped out at 237 pounds.  She tears up when she looks at her reminder picture.

"I cry, I cry, because that is not a happy person, I was not living life, I was existing," said Knapp.

Today, she is 100 pounds thinner and telling her story.  Jill blogs online and it was found by Dr. Oz.

Now Jill is sharing her knowledge to three former beauty queens who have packed on the pounds.

“I have been there, I have been in your shoes, and I know how hard it is to give all of your energy to everybody else and you don't focus on anyone, and I am here to give you motivation and help you in your journey to get this weight off," said Knapp.

Jill was supposed to be on another episode but her story fit this particular one better.

Jill didn't do pageants before her weight loss, but since then she has.  She previous held the title of Mrs.
Nampa and was third runner up for Mrs. Idaho International.

"Being over 40 is not an excuse, you have to apply the principals, eat six small meals a day and get out and exercise, that's what you have to do for yourself,” said Knapp.

It has taken her two years to shed the weight but Jill says her persistence paid off.

“Keep moving, get up and get moving, that's my saying,” said Knapp.

The show airs at 8 p.m. Thursday on 24/7 - How to get 24/7
