NAMPA -- The Caldwell teen that fell nearly 30 feet from a window at the University of Idaho is finally back home.

For the last month and a half, Amanda Andaverde has been in critical condition at a Seattle hospital.

On Monday, she made the journey home.

Amanda and her mom left Seattle early in the morning and rode nearly 10 hours in the back of an ambulance.

She arrived in Nampa at the Trinity Mission Health Rehab of Holly, where she will continue her recovery.

The ambulance arrived at around 2 p.m., and friends and family couldn't have been more excited.

They're hoping that having Amanda closer to home will speed up her recovery.

In the early morning hours of Sept. 10, Amanda fell out a window at a fraternity house.

Her mom, Emerald Banda, says she was getting off a bunk bed to get her cell phone when she hit her head, lost her balance, and fell out a window.

Emerald says she knows that her daughter had been drinking.

She calls what happened a tragic accident, one that she hopes others will learn from.

In the meantime, Emerald will continue to be by her daughter's side until she gets better, as will her family and friends.

As for Amanda's progress, the family is praying for the best.

About two weeks before Andaverde's accident, another U-of-I student was also seriously injured in a three-story fall.

Shane Meyer came home from the same Seattle hospital last week.

After the two falls, the University of Idaho ordered a safety review of all fraternity and sorority houses.

Moscow Police and the Latah County Prosecutor's Office continue to investigate.
