BOISE -- Boise Police say no kidnapping happened in connection with a note found at a Boise restaurant, and no charges will be filed in connection with the weekend incident.
Police were investigating a kidnapping after a waitress found a folded note on a table at the Egg Factory on Fairview and Milwaukee on Saturday.
The note read, "Help, I've been kidnapped."
Officers found the person who wrote the not, which was written on a napkin. That person was cooperative with police and explained the note was a personal communication that was never intended to report a crime.
Because the intention and purpose was not criminal, no charges will be filed against the person who wrote it.
Police say they take kidnapping reports seriously. They thanked restaurant employees for helping them locate those involved and determining that no one was in danger.
