BOISE -- If you're not ill with aches, chills or even a lost voice, than you probably know someone who is.
Widespread flu activity is being reported by 25 states including Idaho, Oregon and Utah.
Recently, a 5-year-old boy from Eugene, Oregon, died from the H1N1 flu strain after falling ill on Christmas Day, according to officials from the hospital. So far, at least two people have died of the flu in Oregon and 81 people have been hospitalized.
Back here in Idaho, the Idaho Health and Welfare also confirmed the first flu-related death of the season.
The department says the patient was an adult over the age of 60 and from south central Idaho.
Last flu season, 35 people died from flu-related illnesses in Idaho.
