BOISE-- Boise State running back Jay Ajayi and wide receiver Shane Williams-Rhodes were each named to 2014 awards watch lists on Monday.

Ajayi, a redshirt junior, was named to the preseason watch list for the Maxwell Award, which is given to the nation s top college player of the year.

Williams-Rhodes, a junior receiver and return specialist, was named to the Paul Hornung Award Watch List, which is given to the most versatile player in college football.

Ajayi was a workhorse for the Broncos in 2013, carrying the ball 249 times for 1,425 and 18 touchdowns.

Williams-Rhodes was ranked 11th-nationally for punt returns last season, and caught 77 passes for 702 yards and six touchdowns.

The winner of the Maxwell Award will be announced at the Home Depot College Football Awards Show on December 11. The Hornung Award winner will be announced in late January.
