LASVEGAS--The Idaho Steelheads fought back to force overtime after trailing for a period, but it was in vain, as the Las Vegas Wranglers got a goal in overtime to take the 3-2 win. Las Vegas now leads the best-of-seven series two games to none.

Both teams were scoreless after one period of play. The scoring erupted in the second, as Las Vegas book-ended a pair of goals around a Cody Purves goal for the Steelheads. Idaho trailed by a goal late until Joe Periera lit the lamp just before the final horn had sounded, sending the game to overtime.

But the Idaho comeback was short lived, as Scott Campbell re-directed a pass into the net to win the game at 1:31 in the extra period.

Idaho goalie Jerry Kuhn stopped 42 of 45 shots in the loss.

The series now shifts to Boise, when Idaho hosts Las Vegas for three games starting on Thursday night.
