BOISE -- Thousands turned out Saturday for Slide the City, featuring a 1,000 foot slip and slide.
The slide was unfurled down South Protest Road for the afternoon, spanning from Federal Way to Boise Avenue. The road was closed to traffic during the event.
Riders used inflatable tubes to slide down the course.
Slide the City supports a charity by donating $50 for every volunteer who pitches in. The benefits for Boise's event will go to the Ronald McDonald House.
