CALDWELL -- The Caldwell Night Rodeo kicked off Tuesday, and one little girl had a very special night. 10-year-old Hailee was crowned "Miss Make-A-Wish" and had her wish granted.

Hailee's night started with a horse ride in her new adaptive saddle, which was the biggest and most important part of her wish. She has Spinal Muscular Atrophy and is unable to walk.

She loves to ride horses but usually has to have two people with her, one on each side.

Because of the new saddle she requested, Hailee rode around the arena independently with her riding instructor on a horse next to her.

"You get a little emotional. I'm not going to lie, I think we all were a little teary eyed when we saw her," said Janelle Winstead, the Make-A-Wish Coordinator. "Really it's just such a relief to know you met that expectation."

"A lot of the wishes are to go somewhere so when they're local, we really embrace them, and the community loves it to because everybody gets to kind of experience that power of a wish. It's really cool," added Winstead.

In addition to getting her adaptive saddle, Hailee got riding lessons, a shopping spree at D&B, a Miss Make-A-Wish tiara, sash and belt buckle and was a VIP at the Caldwell Night Rodeo.

CNR continues through Saturday, including a special Power of Pink night on Thursday to support breast cancer awareness.

The rodeo begins each night with a junior rodeo at 6:30 p.m. with a main event continuing at 8:00 p.m.
