MERIDIAN --Traffic was slow going this morning behind a five-car crash on eastbound Interstate 84.

The wreck happened just past Locust Grove Road at about 8:45 a.m.

The two left lanes were blocked by the accident and traffic was funneled into one lane to get around the wreck, creating quite a backup on the highway.

Heavy rain was a contributing factor to slowing traffic.

Idaho State Police say the driver of the third vehicle was cited for causing the crash and failure to provide proof of auto insurance.

There were no injuries to report.
