BOISE -- The Boise Planning and Zoning Commission has voted to approve a controversial apartment complex in northwest Boise.
The Saxton Apartments are planned for a section of land on State Street and Gary Lane. The plan calls for 312 units of two, three and four level apartments on 13 acres with room for commercial use.
However, the approval comes with some changes.
The commission said yes to planned commercial zoning, meaning there are more restrictions on what businesses can go in.
The plan is now set to go before the Boise City Council sometime in September, but an appeal by opposing neighbors is expected.
