BOISE -- One of the main missions of this weekend s Race for the Cure is to raise money so that women who can t afford a mammogram, can get one.

That is especially important for women who get medical care through the Terry Reilly Health Clinics, a low-income source of medical care stretched out throughout Treasure Valley.

It has been a Komen grantee since 1999, but this year by re-writing its grant, and nursing manager Don Morrison says Terry Reilly is able to reach a population that it couldn t help before.

To me, one of our greatest successes has been the Marsing and Owyhee Clinic areas. So when I started 5 years ago, we were maybe able to do two mammograms. We re doing over 49 to 50 at that clinic now because of this funding and how we allocate the funding, said Morrison

Morrison says the Komen Funds help the clinics run a system that tracks, schedules and most importantly follows up with females who should be getting mammograms.
