BOISE-- Organizers say Boise's 2013 Treefort Music Fest played to a successful close Sunday, increasing attendance over last year.

Assistant Producer Drew Lorona says preliminary numbers indicate more than 3,000 4-day passes were sold to the festival. That's up over 1,000 passes sold in 2012.

Festival media coordinator Matt Dalley supported those statistics.

We were really close to selling out, maybe 100 passes away from selling out completely, Dalley said.

Lorona also estimated roughly 6,000 people were admitted to the event's main stage forFriday's concert, featuring headliners Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings.

Organizers say they'll still need to crunch the exact numbers regarding sales and festival attendance and expect to have that data at later date.

Despite the cold weather, thousands made the journey to 13 venues throughout downtown Boise to watch more than 260 bands.
