EAGLE -- The Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation has closed the swimming beach at Eagle Island State Park after reports of illness.
Swimming areas within the park will be closed until further notice.
Parks and Recreation officials say tests conducted last week showed the water was safe.
Over the weekend, visitors reported some people who swam in the water had gotten sick. That prompted the IDPR to close the swimming area until more tests can be done.
"The health and safety of our visitors is our top priority," said Director Nancy Merrill in a press release. "We're all concerned over the reports of illness and want to do what we can to be proactive in protecting our guests."
Additional water quality testing will take place at Eagle Island State Park this week.
The water slide, picnic areas, disc golf and equestrian areas will remain open.
