BOISE -- A 33-year-old Boise man is charged with first-degree arson after police say he intentionally set fire to a neighbor's home on New Year's Eve while the family was inside.

The fire was limited to a corner of the Columbia Village home, and was extinguished quickly by other neighbors, according to reports.

Boise Police say 33-year-old Nicholas Orr, was arrested and charged with the crime on New Year's Day.

Department spokesperson Lynn Hightower told KTVB the homeowner was able to provide a description of the suspect, and that lead officers to Orr.

While few details are available in the case, alcohol is thought to be a factor.

If convicted, Orr could face up to 25 years in prison and/or a fine of up to $100,000.
