BOISE -- The butterfly sculpture outside the Women's and Children's Alliance in Boise is back in its place after a series of thefts stretching back more than two years.

Boise Rigging Supply welded the colorful little creature to its perch Tuesday night, after it was stolen a third time, and then returned last week.

WCA leaders hope the welding job is a permanent fix.

At this time, police are still looking for the man who was captured on this security footage punching the butterfly free.

The next day, an apparent friend of the suspect returned the butterfly with an apology note.
