STAR, Idaho -- Seven people were taken to an area hospital Saturday after a semitrailer struck a minivan attempting to make a left-hand turn onto a county highway.
Ada County Sheriff's deputies say the crash happened around 11:45 a.m. at the intersection of Floating Feather and Pollard roads near Star.
That's when a 16-year-old boy driving a mini van with 5 of his relatives inside tried to turn left from Floating Feather Road onto Pollard Road and was struck by the northbound semitrailer.
Andrea Dearden, spokesperson for the AdaCounty Sheriff's Office, says the driver and all five passengers in the van were taken to an area hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
Both the 16-year-old driver, and a 45-year-old female passenger were treated and released. Four other passengers, a mixture of teens and children, are still being treated for serious injuries.
The 25-year-old man driving the semitrailer was also taken to an area hospital, treated and released.
Dearden says deputies continue to investigate the crash, and no charges have been filed.
