BOISE -- Local heroes were honored at an annual EMS breakfast in Boise this morning.
Ada County paramedics, firefighters and Good Samaritans were recognized for helping save lives in the community.
The breakfast was held at St. Luke's in downtown Boise.
One of the honorees, Ada County dispatcher Krystal Cleveland, helped walk a mother and son through CPR during a 911 call. Her instructions over the phone last summer helped save a man's life.
And that's a scary situation for the person on that phone, something is wrong they don't know what's going on and you're basically their lifeline in dispatch, said Cleveland. You are there to help them help their significant other.
The EMS breakfast is part of national emergency medical services week.
The goal is to show appreciation for the people who dedicate their lives to helping others.
