CALDWELL -- A Caldwell woman who told police she accidentally shot and killed her husband earlier this year will spend at least three years in prison.

Paige Ireland was sentenced Wednesday to 10 years, with three of those fixed.

She was charged with voluntary manslaughter in the death of her husband Samuel Ireland back in February.

Ireland told investigators that her husband was abusive and that she was only trying to scare him when she pointed a hunting rifle at him and pulled the trigger.

Ireland told police she didn't think the gun was loaded.
