BOISE-- Two Oregon men are in the Malheur CountyJail after police say they threatened an Ontario woman -- and then one suspect led multiple law enforcement agencies on a high-speed chase through parts of Oregon and Idaho.

Austin Bowden, 19, and Jocael Palomino, 26, are booked on a variety of misdemeanor and felony charges.

Deputies say the situation unfolded after a woman called police to report that Palomino was making threatening, harassing phone calls to her, according to the Malheur Count Sheriff's Office.

Undersheriff Travis Johnson says officers eventually responded to the woman's location, just outside of Ontario, after she then reported Palomino had arrived at her house and was unwanted.

Furthermore, Johnson says Palomino arrived at the home inside a 1994 Honda Accord driven by 19-year-old Austin Bowden of Ontario. According to reports, Bowden quickly drove away from the house after police arrived, despite their warnings to the contrary.

Palomino stayed behind and was arrested on an unrelated theft charge.

Deputies say Bowden ran several stop signs in a residential neighborhood while feeling from police, then continued north onto State Highway 201 and drove at speeds of over 100 m.p.h.

The chase reportedly continued into the nearby city of Payette, Idaho, where Idaho authorities intervened -- and then back again into Oregon.

Bowden was eventually stopped after his engine failed just outside of Adrian, Oregon, according to reports. Deputies say he was taken into custody without further incident at that point.

Authorities from Malheur County, Ontario Police, Payette City, Payette County, Idaho State Police, and Fruitland Police all assisted in the chase, according to the Malheur County Sheriff's Office.

Undersheriff Johnson says Bowden was able to avoid three spike strips placed in the roadway by officers.

Our office really appreciates the cooperative effort, Johnson told KTVB. We're glad this came to a safe conclusion.

Bowden is charged with failure to carry or present a driver's license, violation of his probation, two counts of misdemeanor reckless endangerment, felony fleeing or eluding a police officer, and reckless driving.

Palomino is charged with first-degree theft.
