MIDDLETON -- A Middleton mother was hit by a car this morning but managed to push her baby stroller out of harm's way just before being struck.

Canyon County spokesman Joe Decker says just before 8 a.m. the woman was walking home on Concord Street in Middleton after dropping her kids off at school. She was pushing a stroller and walking west on the sidewalk. She came upon a small curve with a recreational vehicle parked on the street, as well as an ATV that was partially blocking the sidewalk.

She went into the street to get around the RV and was struck by a car. Fortunately, she was able to push the stroller out of the way before being hit. The woman suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.

The incident remains under investigation. No citations have been issued, but officials say owner of the ATV will likely be cited.
