BOISE -- A new public comment period has just opened on the proposed CuMo Mine project in the Boise National Forest.

The Idaho CuMo Mining Corporation - formerly known as Mosquito Gold Corporation - is seeking to do exploration drilling on a 2,900-acre portion of the forest about 14 miles north of Idaho City.

An environmental assessment outlines the analysis of that proposal, and possible alternatives.

Three public, open house-style meetings about that assessment are happening this week.

The first meeting is tonight from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Robinson Community Center in Idaho City.

Meetings are also scheduled for Wednesday night in Boise and Thursday night in Garden Valley.
