SPOKANE, Wash. -- At least one thief stole hockey equipment from a University of Idaho player s pickup truck and then took off in the vehicle.

The players were visiting a home in Spokane Friday night when the suspects targeted their truck.

Police tracked down the vehicle to rural Spokane County, but thousands of dollars worth of equipment was missing. Deputies say it appears the truck was also used to commit a separate burglary.

The players spent Saturday scrambling to prepare for a night game against WSU in Cheney. While only some of the players gear was taken, all of the uniforms are gone. Some of the players returned to Moscow for backups. They do plan to play in the matchup.
