BOISE -- The publisher and editor at the Times-News say they simply wanted to challenge readers with Friday's edition.
So one week after a gunman killed 20 children and six adults at a Connecticut elementary school, the Twin Falls newspaper did something different with its front page.
Friday's front cover contains no photographs, sweeping headlines or breaking news.
Instead, the newspaper published a column entitled It's Complicated that urges Americans to take action to prevent another tragedy. Below it? The names of those killed in last week's shooting.
The column was written by Publisher John Pfeifer, who recounts his experience at the Daily Chronicle in Dekalb, Ill., during the 2008 deadly shooting rampage at Northern Illinois University.
Editor Autumn Agar says the decision to revamp the page was a risk worth taking.
