BOISE -- A Boise man is in jail, accused of slashing two men with knives and trying to assault a police officer.

Boise Police responded to a report of a fight with a knife in a parking lot near W. Ustick Road and Mitchell Steet around 1 a.m. Saturday.

An officer approached 23-year-old Cynclaire Woods who was sitting on the curb. The suspect stood up and began to walk away. At that point the officer instructed him to stop and show he hands. He refused. Moments later, Woods came at the officer with knives he had been concealing.

The officer kicked the suspect in the chest. Woods dropped his weapon. Other officers assisted as Woods continued to fight and struggle with them. He was taken into custody and two knives were retrieved by police. None of the officers were seriously injured during the arrest.

Woods was booked into the Ada County Jail on two counts of aggravated battery, aggravated assault on an officer and probation violation charges.

Police say two male victims who had seen Woods in a bar earlier that evening were approached in a parking lot afterwards. They say he made threats along with several unclear statements. The victims says Woods then walked up and slashed them both across the throat with knives. Both men suffered lacerations, but their injuries were not life-threatening. They were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The victims told police they did not know the suspect, and don't know what prompted the attack.
