JEROME, Idaho -- The Jerome County Sheriff's Office and the Idaho State Police have raided a sophisticated marijuana growing operation along the Snake River Canyon in southwestern Jerome County.
Sheriff Doug McFall tells The Times-News an irrigation system fed the plants, which were only reachable via a boat ride and a nearly half-mile hike.
Investigators with the Mini-Cassia Drug Task Force helped deputies and the ISP seize 440 plants on Thursday. Officials say some of the plants were as much as 9 feet tall.
McFall says investigators have identified suspects in the case.
