KETCHUM, Idaho -- A 19-year-old Bellevue man is charged with vehicular manslaughter after he allegedly hit a man with his Jeep, pushing him over a cliff.
Officials in Blaine County say the victim, Steven Franco of Ketchum, was guiding Stephen Tyler Jameson as he backed-up his Jeep near the edge of a cliff at the Magic Reservoir Sunday.
However, Sheriff Gene Ramsey says Jameson hit the gas instead of the brake, and the Jeep hit Franco, pushing him over the cliff.
Wood River Fire and Rescue Chief Bart Lassman says Franco suffered head and chest injuries in the subsequent fall, and later died in a helicopter on the way to the hospital.
Jameson was arraigned Monday on charges of vehicular manslaughter and leaving the scene of an injury accident.
