LOGAN, Utah -- A preliminary report released by the Idaho Transportation Department says an 18-year-old Utah State University student was not distracted by a phone when she died in a January crash in Idaho, even though she posted on Facebook minutes earlier.

The report said following too closely, speeding and inattention were factors when Taylor Sauer slammed into the back of a slow-moving semi-truck Jan. 14 on Interstate 84 near Mountain Home.

The same report cited by The Herald Journal of Logan says she was not distracted by communication devices or other passengers at the time.

Officials say Sauer posted online just before the accident, telling a friend, I can't discuss this matter now. Driving and Facebooking is not safe!

A second semi hit the back of Sauer's car before running off the side of the road.

Idaho StatePolice says their investigation is not yet complete. A final report could change depending on the outcome of that investigation.
