IDAHO FALLS - An Idaho Falls man was airlifted from the scene of a crash Monday morning after police say his car slammed into the back of a semi.

Thirty-two-year-old Adam Robinson of Idaho Falls was traveling west on US-20 behind the semi when the crash happened about 20 miles west of Idaho Falls.

Police say the semi's driver slowed to make a left turn, and Robinson's Honda Civic plowed into the back of the trailer.

The semi's driver was wearing a seatbelt, and was uninjured in the wreck. Robinson was not wearing a seatbelt. He was taken to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center by air ambulance.

The westbound lanes of US-20 were blocked for about two and a half hours. The crash remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
