NAMPA -- A routine traffic stop in Nampa led to the arrests of suspected marijuana traffickers late Tuesday night.

The officer who stopped 43-year-old Seth Landon Shreefer of Portland reported a strong smell of marijuana coming from the car. Officers searched the car after a drug detection dog indicated there was likely drugs inside.

Police seized 6.5 pounds of marijuana and a pound of suspected psilocybin mushrooms. The haul is valued at about $42,000. Drug paraphernalia and a substantial amount of cash were also found in the car, police said.

Shreefer was arrested along with his passengers: 60-year-old Billie Liciana Bird of Cottage Grove, Ore. and 41-year-old Skyeann Kathryn Howard of Portland, Ore. The suspects were booked into the Canyon County Jail early Wednesday morning.

All three have been charged with trafficking in marijuana. If convicted, they face a mandatory minimum of three years in prison each.
