GARDEN CITY -- Police are searching for two men who they say tried to rob a home early Tuesday morning. One of the men was reportedly armed with a cattle prod and used it to shock several people.

Officers say the incident happened around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday near 43rd Street in Garden City.

Police say five people were inside the home when the robbery happened. A sergeant with the Garden City police department says three of them were shocked by the cattle prod. He says they were not seriously injured, and declined medical help when it was offered.

Police say the robbery was unsuccessful. Officers are still looking for the two men involved.

  • Police say the man armed with the cattle prod is white and in his early 20's. Witnesses say he is about 5' 8 and was wearing a white-colored hooded sweatshirt and jeans. He was last seen running near 44th and Adams Street.
  • The second man was last seen running near 42nd Street and the GardenCity Greenbelt. Witnesses say he was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants.
